Practical Training on Earthquake and Fire Safety Preparedness Held at the Faculty of Biology and Ecology

As part of the efforts to implement the  sustainable university, the Faculty of Biology and Ecology of the National University of Uzbekistan conducted a practical training on earthquake and fire safety preparedness. The activity aimed to strengthen students’ awareness and adaptive capacity in responding to climate-related and natural hazards.

The training was organized in cooperation with the Olmazor District Department of Emergency Situations, the University’s Civil and Labor Protection Department, as well as faculty leadership, professors, tutors, and students.

Students were divided into four specialized teams focusing on public order maintenance, fire safety, first aid, and rescue operations. Under the supervision of safety officers, evacuation drills were conducted according to the building’s evacuation plan to ensure that everyone could exit safely and assist others in emergency conditions.

This initiative directly contributes to climate action, which calls for strengthening resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-related hazards and natural disasters. By equipping students with essential emergency response skills, the National University of Uzbekistan continues to foster a safer, more sustainable, and climate-resilient community.
