Green Space Initiative
As part of the “Green Space” initiative, the National University of Uzbekistan plants more than 1,000 trees every year.
This ongoing campaign aims to reduce carbon emissions, improve air quality, and create a sustainable campus environment.
By expanding green areas, the university contributes to the national effort to combat climate change and promote clean and renewable energy goals.
As part of the “Green Space” Nationwide Project, a large-scale tree planting campaign was held at the National University of Uzbekistan, where decorative and fruit trees were planted in unused green areas of the campus.
🔹 The event, organized within the framework of the initiative proposed by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, brought together the university administration, professors and teachers, faculty students, staff members, tutors, and young volunteers.
🔸 During the campaign, a total of 1,700 trees were planted across various faculties — including 700 fruit trees and 1,000 ornamental trees (comprising 800 chestnut and 200 spruce saplings).

Alongside other higher and vocational education institutions across the country, representatives of the National University of Uzbekistan — including the university administration, professors, and students — actively participated in the event, contributing to this noble environmental initiative.
Let’s Build a Green Space Together!
As part of the “Green Space” Nationwide Project, the National University of Uzbekistan organized a tree-planting campaign to expand the campus’s green areas by planting ornamental trees in unused spaces.
During the campaign, the Department of Maintenance and Facilities planted 280 ornamental chestnut trees across the university’s green zones.
For reference, the chestnut saplings were grown at the Faculty of Biology, and they are regularly used to green the university campus, faculty areas, and student dormitories.
Students Initiative for Green Space
Within the framework of the “Green Space” Nationwide Project, a green campaign has been launched at the National University of Uzbekistan. Nearly 500 students from various faculties are actively participating in the initiative. Enthusiastic young volunteers are planting ornamental trees and contributing to the beautification and expansion of green areas on campus.
As is well known, the “Green Space” project aims to plant 200 million trees and shrubs annually across the country. The successful implementation of this large-scale national initiative is expected to increase the share of green areas in urban spaces from the current 8% to 30%, creating a more sustainable and eco-friendly environment.
