An International Conference on Topical Issues of Historical Source Studies

Today, on April 23, an international scientific conference titled “Topical Issues of Historical Source Studies in Uzbekistan” was held at the Faculty of History of the National University of Uzbekistan under the initiative of the Department of “Source Studies and Archival Studies.”

The event aimed to analyze the role and significance of source studies in the development of historical science in Uzbekistan, discuss new research approaches, and strengthen international academic cooperation.

The conference brought together researchers and scholars from the National University of Uzbekistan, the Institute of History and the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the “Uzarchiv” Agency, the National Archive of Uzbekistan, and the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, as well as leading universities and research centers from Russia, Turkey, and Kazakhstan.

During the sessions, participants discussed the formation and development of source studies in Uzbekistan, the reinterpretation of historical processes based on newly discovered archival materials, modern methods in source analysis, and the application of digital technologies in studying historical documents.

At the conclusion of the conference, participants reached agreements on expanding scientific cooperation in the field of source studies, launching joint research projects, and supporting young scholars.

This international conference serves as an important platform for advancing historical science in Uzbekistan and promoting innovative approaches within the field of source studies.
