Field Trip to Oqsoq Ota Training Base

NUUz organizes an educational field trip to one of its prominent training bases in Oqsoq Ota, offering students the opportunity to see sustainability practices in action, participate in workshops, and gain a deeper understanding of the state of the land and its ecosystems.

Students participates in workshops led by experts in the field, who provides in-depth training on topics such as sustainable agriculture, water conservation, and soil restoration techniques. These workshops are part of NUUz’s broader curriculum aimed at equipping students with the skills and knowledge needed to address pressing environmental issues in Uzbekistan and beyond.

Workshops on Sustainable Land Use

One of the key components of the field trip was a series of practical workshops focused on sustainable land use. The workshops covered various essential topics, including:

Soil Health and Management:

Experts demonstrated how soil testing and monitoring can help in making informed decisions about crop planting and land restoration.

Ecosystem Restoration:

Participants engaged in activities that demonstrated how to rehabilitate degraded lands using indigenous plants and reforestation methods.

Water Conservation Practices:

Students learned about the importance of efficient water usage in agriculture, particularly in regions like Uzbekistan, where water resources are limited.

Learning the State of the Earth

The field trip also served as a platform for students to assess the current state of the land and understand the environmental challenges faced by the region. As part of the hands-on experience, students collected soil samples, observed plant biodiversity, and assessed the impact of various land-use practices on the local environment. This practical exposure provided them with invaluable insights into the complexities of land management and the importance of sustainability in preserving ecosystems.
