Women in Science: Inspiring Leadership and Dedication in Chemistry

In celebration of February 11 – International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the Faculty of Chemistry at the National University of Uzbekistan organized an inspiring event under the theme “Scholar – A Symbol of Dedication and Selflessness in Science.”The gathering aimed to honor the remarkable contributions of women scientists and to highlight their growing role in advancing research, innovation, and education in Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by representatives from the university leadership, professors, and scholars from various institutions, including the Association of Women Scientists “Olima,” the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the Academy of Sciences, the University of Public Security, and the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The session was opened by Yakub Ergashov, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of the National University of Uzbekistan, who emphasized that empowering women in science is one of the key drivers of sustainable progress and academic excellence.

During the scientific presentations, leading female scholars shared their experiences and achievements in the field of chemistry and related sciences.
Among the speakers were Professor Mukhabbat Yuldasheva (Faculty of Chemistry), Professor Nilufar Mamadaliyeva (Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances), Colonel Khilola Usmanova (University of Public Security), Associate Professor Shoira Mirabdullayeva (Academy of Armed Forces), and Sakina Musabekova, Chief Forensic Expert at the Central Customs Laboratory.
