Promoting Fair and Quality Assessment at the National University of Uzbekistan

The National University of Uzbekistan  has officially launched the final examination period for undergraduate (full-time and evening) and master’s degree students. The exams, which began on January 13, will continue through January 25.

In accordance with the University Council’s recent resolution, new assessment formats have been introduced starting from the 2024–2025 academic year. This initiative applies primarily to first-year students of the full-time program, but may also extend to other study modes when necessary. The final assessments will now follow a more transparent and structured approach:

University-wide courses will be assessed through test-based examinations.

Major-specific courses will be evaluated through written (encrypted) examinations.

To guarantee fairness and objectivity in the evaluation process, the Teaching and Methodological Department is responsible for organizing the final exams, while the Registrar’s Office oversees the encryption of written papers and the processing of results. This division of responsibilities aims to strengthen academic integrity and prevent bias in student evaluations.

By implementing encryption technology and centralized supervision, the university is ensuring that students’ academic performance is judged solely on merit. Such reforms reflect the institution’s commitment to building a culture of accountability, transparency, and equality in education.

As Uzbekistan continues to modernize its education system, the National University of Uzbekistan is positioning itself as a leader in higher education reform. By introducing transparent and innovative assessment mechanisms, the university ensures that its graduates are not only knowledgeable but also equipped with the skills and integrity required in a competitive global environment.

This transformation symbolizes NUUz’s ongoing journey toward academic excellence, where fairness, transparency, and quality stand as the pillars of sustainable education.
