Access to Food Security Knowledge
a Knowledge-Based Approach
(NUUz) is advancing food security through education, research, and collaboration. By integrating food security and sustainable agriculture topics into its curriculum, NUUz equips students and researchers with the skills to develop innovative solutions addressing local and regional agricultural challenges. These students often work hand-in-hand with farmers, facilitating direct knowledge transfer and supporting rural development.
NUUz’s educational programs promote modern agricultural practices and responsible resource management.
Key courses include:
General Agriculture and Crop Production
Intelligent Farming Systems and Soil Properties
Fertilizing Agricultural Crops
Training sessions
Kattakurgan district (Samarkand region), NUUz researchers conducted a practical-scientific seminar to assess soil fertility and ecological conditions near the Kattakurgan Reservoir. This project, funded by the Agency for Innovative Development, resulted in cartographic models that help farmers restore soil health and strengthen national food security.
NUUz developing farmer knowledge models
Academic contributions include Musaev et al. (2024) — “Enhancing Sustainable Agriculture through Crop Diversification in Uzbekistan” (E3S Web of Conferences, GI 2024, 06005), which highlights NUUz’s leadership in developing knowledge transfer frameworks for smallholder farmers. NUUz as a research institution developing farmer knowledge models that improve food security and rural resilience.
Improving Uzbekistan’s Food Security
The government’s focus on agricultural modernization, resource efficiency, and market diversification reflects a comprehensive approach to ensuring food availability and affordability for all citizens. ….
Through its Faculty of Biology, NUUz collaborates with farmers to introduce advanced agricultural technologies. One recent initiative involves chestnut seed technology, designed to increase crop yields and improve farmers’ livelihoods. By sharing research-driven solutions like this, NUUz strengthens the link between science, practice, and rural economic growth.
