National University of Uzbekistan Organizes Climate Action and Environmental Awareness Events at Affiliated Schools
As part of its ongoing commitment to fostering climate awareness and environmental responsibility among young people, the National University of Uzbekistan held a series of educational and creative meetings at its affiliated schools in Tashkent’s Olmazor district.At Schools No. 22 and 133, the Director of the Institute of Social and Spiritual Studies and renowned Navoi scholar, Olimjon Davlatov, honored with the “Shuhrat” medal, led interactive sessions focused on the importance of environmental stewardship, sustainable living, and the role of youth in climate action. Meanwhile, at Schools No. 24 and 29, celebrated poet Xurshid Abdurashid engaged students in discussions about nature, cultural heritage, and collective responsibility towards the planet.The events began with the participation of university officials, school leadership, and guest artists in tree-planting activities under the “Green Space” project—a key initiative aimed at promoting urban greening, improving air quality, and enhancing local ecosystems within the school environments.During the interactive dialogues, the guest speakers emphasized themes of patriotism intertwined with environmental care, encouraging students to develop a deep respect for nature alongside a passion for literature and knowledge. They highlighted the critical role young people play in addressing climate change, protecting biodiversity, and building sustainable communities.
Students were motivated to take bold and responsible actions towards preserving their natural surroundings and to pursue higher education with a focus on environmental science, sustainability, and climate-related fields.
