Uzbekistan–Italy Education Forum: A New Step Towards Strategic Partnership

Today, the First Uzbekistan–Italy Education Forum was held at the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, marking a significant step in strengthening academic cooperation between the two countries. The forum brought together the Italian Minister of Education and Research, rectors of leading Italian universities, and heads of higher education institutions from Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of the forum, a number of important agreements were signed. In particular, Rector of NUU, Inom Majidov, signed new MoU with the University of Florence and University of Milano-Bicocca.

These agreements aim not only to launch joint academic programs, but also to promote faculty and student exchanges, collaborative research projects, and the integration of innovative approaches into the learning process. A special focus was placed on establishing cooperation in joint archaeological research in historical regions and the exchange of scientific data between the universities.

Partnerships between NUU and Italian universities are not entirely new. Earlier this year, a memorandum was signed with Tuscia University, which resulted in the launch of a joint program in archaeology starting from the 2024–2025 academic year. This initiative highlights the practical outcomes of Uzbekistan–Italy cooperation in higher education.

The forum serves as an important platform to deepen educational ties between Uzbekistan and Italy, while creating new bridges of academic and scientific collaboration. Expanding such partnerships contributes not only to enhancing the quality of education but also to boosting the effectiveness of global research and innovation.

The First Uzbekistan–Italy Education Forum has laid a solid foundation for closer cooperation in higher education, joint scientific projects, and the shared exploration of historical heritage.
