The National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Central Asia. It proudly preserves a rich history and academic heritage that attract not only international students but also distinguished professors and researchers from around the world. They come to explore the university’s traditions, gain invaluable and unforgettable experiences, and share their expertise.
Foreign professors do not simply come to NUUz to teach — they also build strong ties with local faculty members, engage in joint research, publish articles together, and actively collaborate in Erasmus+ and other international programs.
As one of the leading higher education institutions in Uzbekistan, NUUz stands out for its high proportion of foreign faculty members relative to local faculty.
Foreign professors come to NUUz not only to teach students but also to actively engage in research and collaborate on publications with local faculty. For example, from 2018 to 2024, more than 3,186 publications were produced at the university, and 41% of these were co-authored with foreign faculty members.
NUUz not only attracts international professors through bilateral Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), but also actively cooperates with international donor organizations such as TİKA, TÜBİTAK, USAID, the World Bank, and, in particular, the Erasmus+ mobility programs.
