The Role of the Student Psychology Group in Promoting Well-Being and Professional Growth

At the Faculty of Social Sciences of the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek, the Student Scientific and Creative Psychology Group actively operates as a vibrant platform for learning, research, and personal development. The group unites young and motivated students who strive to combine scientific inquiry with practice and to promote psychological well-being within the university communit

The group’s main purpose is to guide future specialists toward professional excellence through the integration of research and practice. Students conduct psychological experiments, participate in academic conferences and projects, analyze behavioral data, and develop the critical thinking skills essential for a successful psychologist

Students regularly:

Organize training sessions, psychological games, and workshops

  • Undertake pedagogical and professional internships

  • Analyze real-life psychological situations to enhance empathy, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills

Importantly, the group also provides psychological support for fellow students, helping them cope with stress, emotional fatigue, and academic pressure — contributing to a culture of care and mutual assistance across the campus.

Educational and Social Outreach

The group engages in various educational and awareness activities:

  • Developing and sharing psychological content on social media

  • Conducting seminars and discussions on mental health

  • Promoting psychological literacy and emotional intelligence among peers

Echoing Abraham Maslow’s words, “A person achieves inner harmony only when they become what they are capable of becoming,” the group helps students cultivate empathy, responsibility, and the ability to understand others — qualities central to both professional success and human connection.

In light of the group’s achievements, it is strongly recommended that similar psychology and peer-support groups be established in every department and faculty. Such initiatives not only empower students academically but also foster a supportive environment where mental health, compassion, and personal growth are integral parts of university life.
