An Event to Promote Legal Culture and Raise Awareness Among Students of the National University of Uzbekistan

At the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Intellectual Technologies of the National University of Uzbekistan, a preventive roundtable was organized to enhance young people’s legal awareness and legal culture, protect them from the influence of various negative trends, and prevent offenses. During the event, along with legal awareness, the importance of fostering a responsible civic position on issues of sustainability, environmental security, and combating climate change was also emphasized.

The event was attended by Colonel M. Vafoyev, Head of the Olmazor District Department of Internal Affairs; J. Ruziyev, Advisor to the Rector of the University; Sh. G‘ulomov, Head of the Compliance Control Department for Combating Corruption; Z. Rahmonov, Dean of the Faculty; and Lieutenant Colonel A. Abdulhaqov, Senior Prevention Inspector.

The speakers emphasized not only the importance of protecting young people from destructive ideologies, drug abuse, and other negative influences, but also the necessity of protecting the environment, actively engaging in the fight against climate change, adhering to environmental laws, and embracing the principles of a green lifestyle.

It was noted that just as every form of law violation poses a threat to public safety, actions harmful to the climate also endanger the security of future generations. The importance was emphasized of directing young people’s knowledge and intellectual potential not only toward legal matters, but also toward environmentally responsible initiatives, thereby contributing to the prosperity and sustainable development of the nation.

At the conclusion of the event, students addressed the speakers with questions on legal, moral, social, and environmental issues, receiving comprehensive answers. It was emphasized that such dialogues play an important role in enriching young people’s thinking, increasing their social and environmental engagement, and strengthening their literacy in both legal matters and sustainability.
