Today, on September 4, the international conference “Uzbek-Polish historical research: achievements and prospects” was held at the Faculty of History of the National University of Uzbekistan. Within the framework of the conference, the director of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk, professor – Grzegorz Berendt and the chief specialist of this organization Dmitry Panto, the director of the Siberian Memorial Museum in Białystok, professor – Wojciech Sleszynski, the chief specialist of the scientific department of the Vitel Piletsky Institute – Yezhi Rogozinskiy Uzbekistan National they visited the university.
This international conference was opened by Radoslav Gruk, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland to Uzbekistan. In his speech, Mr. Ambassador spoke about the successes achieved between Uzbekistan and Poland during the past period in the political, economic, financial, investment and tourism spheres, as well as the cooperation relations in the field of science and education and expressed his proposals for their expansion. Raima Shirinova, vice-rector for international relations of NUU, took part in the opening of the conference and introduced the conference participants with information about the university’s international relations and scientific potential.
During the conference, participants gave lectures on topics such as “The perspective of Uzbek-Polish historical research in the 21st century”, “The uniqueness of the formation of the Polish diaspora in Uzbekistan in 1867-1946”, “The development of diasporology in Uzbekistan”.
