The U.S. Embassy in Tashkent organized a self-defense training program for women, aiming to offer physical and mental support, encourage active participation in society, and promote gender equality.
In the final phase of the project, Associate Professor Ruxsora Qudratullayeva, a candidate of psychological sciences from the Department of Social Psychology at the Faculty of Social Sciences, National University of Uzbekistan, conducted specialized training sessions in collaboration with industry experts. The sessions equipped participants with practical knowledge and skills in self-defense against physical threats, maintaining mental well-being, and protecting personal rights.
The project concluded with a ceremony held at the U.S. Embassy to honor the participants. The event was attended by distinguished guests, including the U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Mr. Jonathan Henick; President of the Central Asia MMA Confederation and Vice President of the Asian Olympic Council, Mr. Otabek Umarov; First Vice Chairperson of the National Paralympic Committee of Uzbekistan, and First Deputy Director of the National Social Protection Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ms. Shahnoza Mirziyoyeva.
At the ceremony, active participants were recognized and awarded certificates, medals, and commemorative gifts.
