Energy efficiency and improvement works in student residences

Large-scale renovation and environmental improvement works are being carried out at Student Dormitory No. 6 of the National University of Uzbekistan before the 2023-2024 academic year. This process is being carried out within the framework of the “Green Campus” initiative created by the university administration, the main goal of which is to create comfortable, safe and energy-efficient living conditions for students.

The principles of high energy efficiency were chosen as the main direction in these renovation works. Modern windows that retain heat are being installed in the buildings, and the lighting system is being replaced with energy-saving LED lights. At the same time, automatic control systems are being introduced to rationally use water and electricity.

The roof of the building is reinforced with thermal insulation, which allows reducing heating costs in winter and keeping the building naturally cool in summer. These measures not only increase energy efficiency, but also serve to reduce harmful emissions into the environment.

Tutors from the Faculty of History and volunteer students are actively involved in the renovation and improvement processes. They are not only engaged in landscaping the area, but also in expanding green areas, planting trees and ornamental shrubs.

Thus, these works being carried out in Student Dormitory No. 6 of the National University of Uzbekistan are not only improving the living conditions of students, but also serving as one of the important steps towards sustainable development and increasing energy efficiency.

In the future, the university administration plans to gradually expand such modernization processes based on “green” principles in all dormitories.
