Psychology Department Organizes Charity Drive to Support Children with Disabilities and Low-Income Students
Tashkent – National University of Uzbekistan continues to demonstrate its strong commitment to social responsibility and community support. From November 22 to 27, the Department of Psychology under the Faculty of Social Sciences organized a charity campaign in honor of December 3 – International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
As part of this initiative, faculty members, doctoral students, and university students came together to collect gifts and essential supplies, which were then delivered to the Specialized Boarding School No. 106 for Children with Disabilities, located in the Olmazor district of Tashkent.
The visit to the boarding school was more than a simple donation—it was a message of solidarity, care, and inclusion. The Psychology Department team personally handed over the items and spent time interacting with the students, aiming to spread joy and emotional support.
This compassionate action reflects the department’s broader vision: fostering empathy and civic engagement among students, while addressing the needs of marginalized groups in society.In addition to outreach efforts toward schoolchildren, the university is also expanding support for its own students from low-income backgrounds.
