A meeting focused on the discussion of environmental issues was held
On November 20 of this year, a meeting was held at the Faculty of Biology and Ecology of the National University of Uzbekistan, dedicated to stabilizing the environmental situation, identifying existing regional problems and developing effective solutions, as well as addressing environmental protection issues. The event was attended by the University’s Vice-Rector for Scientific Work and Innovations Yoqub Ergashov, Chief Specialist of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations Asror Daminov, Faculty Dean Rustam Allaberdiyev, department heads, and other responsible officials.
During the meeting, regional environmental issues, their causes and consequences, as well as the development of sustainable solutions, were discussed in detail. The participants also proposed strengthening scientific research and innovative approaches to environmental issues, and developing regional monitoring systems in collaboration with students and academic staff. These efforts contribute to reinforcing the university’s activities related to climate change adaptation and preparedness for natural disasters.
Based on the discussed issues, faculty members were assigned the task of developing proposals and recommendations. In addition, it was determined that the research work of undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students should focus on addressing regional environmental problems. This initiative not only fosters scientific potential but also makes a significant contribution to ensuring environmental sustainability in the country and enhancing preparedness for emergencies.
At the conclusion of the meeting, future research plans on environmental issues and the faculty’s strategic objectives were defined. The importance of familiarizing young scientists and students with practical work in the regions was also emphasized. This approach helps equip students with practical skills for climate change adaptation, regional monitoring, and preparedness for emergencies.
