A member of the Sustainable Development Team participated in the “GEM — Silkway Central Asia Edition” summer school.

From June 24 to 28, 2024, in the picturesque Issyk-Kul region of the Kyrgyz Republic, an important international scientific and educational event — the summer school “GEM-Silkway Central Asia Edition: Sustainable Development at the Crossroad – European and Eurasian Countries in Dialogue” — was held. This prestigious event was organized in cooperation with the University of Milano-Bicocca (Italy), Osh State University (Kyrgyzstan), and L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (Kazakhstan).

The main objective of the summer school was to analyze in depth the opportunities for cooperation between European and Eurasian countries in the field of sustainable development, ways of exchanging experience, and promising directions for collaboration. The classes and seminars were conducted by leading foreign professors and experts, who in their lectures and interactive sessions provided detailed information on the theoretical foundations of the concept of sustainable development, its practical applications, and a comprehensive approach to environmental challenges.

This summer school not only offered participants a deeper understanding of the concept of sustainable development but also strengthened their environmental awareness and appreciation for nature, giving them an opportunity to learn innovative methods for its protection. Moreover, it served as a new platform for jointly discussing environmental issues in neighboring countries and developing collaborative initiatives to address them.

At the end of the event, participating students presented their research projects and analyses on selected topics, delivering impactful and meaningful presentations. This facilitated the exchange of ideas, critical thinking, and the development of creative approaches.

It is worth noting that Abdukamolov Asrorbek, a member of the Sustainable Development Team of the National University of Uzbekistan, actively participated in this summer school. He showed initiative in all sessions and discussions, capturing the attention of participants with his knowledge and ideas. At the conclusion of the event, Asrorbek was awarded a certificate by the international organizers, marking another major achievement in his academic and social activities.
