Ambassador of Tajikistan to Uzbekistan visited NUU

On January 12, 2024, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan to Uzbekistan, Abdujabbor Rahmonzoda, and the Second Secretary of the Embassy, Zebuniso Sharifzoda, visited the National University of Uzbekistan (NUU).

The delegation was received by the Rector of the National University of Uzbekistan, Majidov Inom Urishevich.

During the meeting, the longstanding bonds of brotherhood and friendship between the Uzbek and Tajik peoples were highlighted. Discussions focused on strengthening educational and scientific collaboration in 2024, particularly between Tajikistan’s higher education institutions and the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan.

Additionally, proposals were made to organize future initiatives, including:

  • An international forum for young students of the two countries.
  • International academic Olympiads.
  • Collaborative projects within the scope of the dissertation defense councils of NUU.

These discussions align with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, by fostering regional academic cooperation and knowledge exchange.
The proposals also contribute to SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, enhancing international collaboration between the two nations’ academic institutions.

At the end of the meeting, both parties agreed to implement these initiatives step by step, strengthening mutual cooperation.
