NUU student Ulugbek Rashitov became the winner of the Grand Prix tournament, which started in Paris, the capital of France, in the 68 kg weight category.
Our compatriot started his participation in the 1/16 final stage against Amir Cisse Moussa from Gabon. Having easily finished the first fight, Ulugbek knocked out Ignacio Morales from Chile in the semi-finals, Yushuai Liang from China in the quarter-finals, and Marko Golubić from Croatia in the semi-finals.
In the final match, which ended a little while ago, Rashitov did not leave Brazilian Edival Pontes any chance.
Thus, the national team won the gold medal on the first day of the competition.
It is important that with this result, Ulug’bek also won 60 rating points on the way to the Paris-2024 Olympics along with the gold medal.
