"A preventive event aimed at promoting mental health and wellness among students" was held at the National University of Uzbekistan

The main purpose of the event

On the initiative of tutors of the Faculty of Psychology of the National University of Uzbekistan, a “Student-to-Youth Preventive Event” was organized as part of the “Youth Day” week. The event focused on mental health, stress management, and the formation of a stable social environment for university students.

The main objectives of this preventive event are:

Prevention of delinquency among students;

Strengthening the spiritual and moral environment;

Prevention of suicide;

Informing students about strengthening mental health and personal stability.

During the event, the importance of young people making the right decisions in problematic situations, overcoming stress and social pressure, and contacting specialists if necessary was emphasized.

Developing mental health and resilience

The event was attended by the Director’s Advisor M. Khaydarov, the Chairperson of the Women’s Advisory Council I. Mamatkulova, the Prevention Inspector K. Qilicheva, the Branch Psychologist K. Ergasheva, and the Women’s Psychologist A. Sadullayeva.

They gave practical recommendations on protecting young people from various negative vices, promoting a healthy lifestyle, forming mental stability, and developing a positive outlook on life.

During the event, students were provided with an opportunity for open communication and the following issues were discussed:

Symptoms of depression and anxiety;

Methods of stress management and increasing motivation;

Strategies for overcoming social pressure and personal problems;

Listening to students’ opinions and suggestions and finding solutions to their problems.

Through open communication, students’ social activity increased and their interest in the educational process strengthened.

As university experts noted, mental health and stability are an integral part of every student’s life. The event focused on the following topics:

Stress Management: Learning effective methods for overcoming exams and personal problems;

Motivation and Personal Development: Encouraging students to work on their goals and plans;

Strengthening Mental Stability: Developing a positive attitude against negative thoughts and situations;

Healthy Social Environment: Encouraging students to help each other and engage in positive communication.

Such activities are important in ensuring mental health among young people, reducing social problems, and creating a stable social environment.
