Empowering Women in Science: Celebrating the Achievements of Uzbekistan’s Female Scientists at the National Forum
Held at the Hilton Hotel in Tashkent, the recent Forum of Women Scientists of Uzbekistan stood as a remarkable testament to the growing recognition and celebration of women’s contributions to the nation’s scientific and academic landscape.
Presidential Assistant Saida Mirziyoyeva graced the event with her presence, delivering an inspiring address that underscored the vital role women play in the advancement of science, technology, and education in Uzbekistan. Her words reflected a deep national appreciation for the determination, intellect, and resilience of the country’s women scientists who continue to push boundaries across diverse fields.
“Uzbekistan’s development hinges not only on reforms but on the intellectual capital driving those reforms forward. Today, we proudly acknowledge our women scientists — they are the minds shaping the future,” said Saida Mirziyoyeva during her speech.
A Milestone in the Recognition of Women Scientists
This forum, which brought together leading female researchers, academics, and policy-makers, served as more than just a celebration. It was an affirmation of the country’s commitment to empowering women in STEM and academic disciplines. A central highlight of the event was the awarding of certificates to female grant recipients, recognizing their research under state scientific programs — a tangible step toward fostering innovation and gender equity in science.
Among the notable honorees was a distinguished group from the National University of Uzbekistan (NUUz). Their achievements, across a wide spectrum of disciplines, reflect the university’s pivotal role in nurturing scientific talent and leading research in Uzbekistan.
