Educational Workshop on Women's Health Held at NUUz

A practical workshop dedicated to women’s health and physiology was recently held at the Faculty of Biology of the National University of Uzbekistan (NUUz), as part of the ongoing activities of the “Young Physiologists of New Uzbekistan” scientific circle, founded by academician Bakriddin Zaripov. The session was led by Associate Professor Mavjuda Yakhyayeva, an obstetrician-gynecologist from the Department of Human and Animal Physiology. The topic of the workshop was:
“Raising a Healthy Generation: Menstrual Hygiene, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Pregnancy, Breast Health, and Menopause Physiology in Girls.”

The interactive session covered essential aspects of female reproductive health, providing both theoretical background and practical guidance on hygiene, prevention, and physiological changes at different stages of a woman’s life. The event brought together female university administrators, faculty members, doctoral and master’s students, and undergraduate female students, highlighting the university’s commitment to fostering awareness and education on critical health topics.

Workshops like these are vital in creating informed, confident, and health-conscious individuals. By addressing topics that are often under-discussed in formal settings, NUUz is playing a key role in breaking taboos, promoting preventive care, and supporting the physical and emotional well-being of young women in higher education. This initiative reflects a broader vision of building a healthy, educated, and empowered generation of women, fully equipped to contribute to the development of New Uzbekistan.
