An International Conference on “Climate Change and Its Impact on the Environment: Challenges and Solutions” was held
An international scientific-practical conference on “Climate Change and Its Impact on the Environment: Challenges and Solutions” was held at the National University of Uzbekistan. The event was organized with the aim of strengthening international cooperation on climate change, environmental sustainability, and the protection of the natural environment.
The event brought together around ten distinguished scholars and experts from countries including Russia, Turkey, Japan, India, and Tajikistan. Some participants attended the conference in person, while others joined online to deliver their scientific presentations. By sharing their diverse experiences, research findings, and perspectives on environmental issues, the international scholars further underscored the global significance of the conference.
One of the highlights of the conference was the participation of Rae Kwon Chung, Chief Advisor on Climate Change to the United Nations Secretary-General, Chairman of the International Committee of the “Global Energy” Prize, and Honorary Doctor of Moscow State University. In his keynote address, he spoke in detail about the direct impacts of global climate change on human life, environmental security, and sustainable development. He also emphasized the importance of active engagement by all nations, including Uzbekistan, in addressing these challenges, and underlined the crucial role of young people in strengthening ecological responsibility.
It should be noted that Rae Kwon Chung is a highly recognized international expert in the field of climate policy. In 2007, as a member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his significant contributions to consolidating and disseminating knowledge on anthropogenic climate change and for developing strategies to combat its effects. This achievement stands as a testament not only to his scientific endeavors but also to his lifelong commitment to the future of humanity.
Throughout the conference, scholarly presentations and discussions addressed the impact of climate change on the environment, human health, and the economy, while also putting forward various proposals to tackle this global challenge. The event served not only as a platform for strengthening international scientific cooperation but also as an important learning opportunity for young researchers and students.
