On May 13th of this year, an international scientific-practical conference titled “Journalism and Mass Communications in the 21st Century: Development Trends, Education, and Technologies” was held at the National University of Uzbekistan.
This event was organized within the framework of the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026, as well as to ensure the implementation of the Decree “On Measures to Support Mass Media and Develop the Journalism Sector,” signed on June 27, 2022, and to celebrate the 106th anniversary of the National University of Uzbekistan.
During the conference, a wide range of research topics were discussed, including journalism, publicism, communication, artificial intelligence, internet media, public relations, design, media literacy, advertising, and media linguistics. The primary goal of the event was to showcase the scientific advancements and achievements in these fields, presenting them to both academic circles and the general public. In addition to this, the conference aimed to foster a platform for specialists and experts to exchange ideas, share experiences, and engage in meaningful discussions, thereby encouraging collaboration and the further development of these vital sectors.
Additionally, the conference provided a crucial platform for reinforcing collaboration among the journalism faculties of Central Asian countries, fostering the exchange of experiences, and advancing mutual cooperation in the field. This initiative aims to not only enhance the quality and standards of journalism and mass communication in Uzbekistan but also to significantly contribute to the development of these fields across the region. By strengthening regional ties and promoting shared knowledge, the conference lays the foundation for continued progress and innovation in journalism and communication practices throughout Central Asia.
Furthermore, this event marks the first step towards fostering collaboration, with plans for future training programs aimed at enhancing the qualifications of journalists and professionals in the field of mass communication. These training sessions will focus on acquiring new knowledge and applying modern technologies, ensuring that specialists stay up-to-date with the latest trends and innovations in the industry. This initiative is expected to play a key role in advancing the professional development of journalists and communication experts, thereby strengthening the overall media landscape.
