On May 9 of this year, the Faculty of Biology hosted the next meeting of the “Young Biochemists” club, organized as an academic and youth gathering.
The event was attended by Academician Qahramon Davronov, Director of the Institute of Microbiology of the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences, and brought together faculty members of the Faculty of Biology, PhD candidates, independent researchers, students, and young people interested in biology. The main goal of the event was to facilitate an exchange of experiences between young biochemists and experienced scientists in the field, discuss recent developments in modern biology and microbiology, and increase young people’s interest in scientific activities.
The lecture provided important information about the modern research being conducted in the fields of microbiology and biotechnology in Uzbekistan, as well as microbiological strains that are beneficial for the national economy and their applications. In his speech, Academician Qahramon Davronov gave a comprehensive overview of the innovative research in microbiology and biotechnology, and how these studies benefit the Uzbek economy and agriculture.
He emphasized that the new strains created through microbiological research play a significant role, particularly in increasing crop yields in agriculture and improving crops through fertilizers produced from natural microorganisms. Such scientific advancements not only ensure ecological safety but also contribute to a reduction in the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in agriculture.
At the conclusion of the meeting, young researchers and students asked the academician questions that intrigued them and exchanged ideas within the scope of practical research in the field of microbiology.
Such events not only enhance the scientific potential of young scholars but also contribute to the development of national biological scientific schools.
