On March 14 this year, a scientific conference for young researchers titled “Current Issues and Applications of Modern Mathematics” was organized in collaboration with the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek, the Mathematics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, and the Uzbekistan Mathematical Society to commemorate International Mathematics Day.
The main objective of the conference was to foster the development of young researchers’ scientific work, facilitate the discussion of their research findings, and enhance their professional skills. The event was attended by distinguished academics, including Sh.A. Ayupov and Sh.Q. Farmonov, professors M.M. Aripov and A. Artikbayev, as well as department heads and faculty members from the Faculty of Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Intelligent Technologies. Moreover, the conference brought together over 100 young researchers and graduate students.
In the opening ceremony of the event, the Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs and Innovations of the National University of Uzbekistan, Y.S. Ergashev, congratulated all the participants, wished good luck to the young researchers, praised the organization of the conference, and wished success to the participants in their scientific research endeavors.
At the conference, Academician Sh.A. Ayupov shared fascinating insights with the participants about the history of “International Mathematics Day” and explained why it is referred to as “Pi Day.”
After the plenary session, the participants were divided into five sections. In each section, discussions were held on various topics related to modern mathematics. Over 100 scientific presentations were made by students and young researchers. The presentations covered topics such as mathematical modeling, algebra, analysis, differential equations and their practical applications, as well as the use of mathematical methods in information technology.
