On September 21, 2024, Ziyo Forum (International Foundation for the Development of Science and Education) organized a free training on “Media Literacy within the Framework of Human Rights” for 33 selected students. The training, led by Turanov Diyorbek Abdullayevich, aimed to equip participants with essential knowledge about human rights, the legal consequences of spreading false information, and techniques for fact-checking and exposing misinformation.
The event covered:
- The significance of human rights and common problematic situations.
- Legal consequences of sharing misinformation on social media.
- Methods for debunking false news.
- Fact-checking techniques.
This initiative aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, as it enhances students’ media literacy and critical thinking skills, contributing to informed and responsible digital citizenship. Through this training, students were empowered to navigate the digital space responsibly, while being more aware of their rights and the ethical challenges surrounding media consumption.
