In alignment with the national initiative “Green Space,” the National University of Uzbekistan has initiated a green campaign aimed at enhancing environmental sustainability and promoting the beautification of green spaces. This impactful campaign, launched on October 21, has garnered enthusiastic participation from approximately 500 students representing various faculties.
The green campaign underscores the university’s commitment to environmental conservation and its proactive engagement in national efforts to increase greenery across urban areas. As part of the initiative, enterprising young participants are actively involved in planting ornamental tree saplings, contributing to the expansion and enhancement of green spaces within the university campus and its surroundings.
“The launch of the green campaign at the National University of Uzbekistan reflects our collective responsibility to safeguard the environment and create a more sustainable future. Through collaborative efforts and active participation, we aim to play our part in realizing the ambitious goals of the ‘Green Space’ national project,” stated Inom Madjidov, Rector of National University of Uzbekistan.
The nationwide project “Green Space” aims to plant 200 million trees and shrubs annually, with the overarching goal of increasing the green area in urban centers from the current 8% to 30%. The participation of the National University of Uzbekistan in this initiative underscores its role as a responsible steward of the environment and a catalyst for positive change in the community.
Through the concerted efforts of students, faculty, and staff, the green campaign at the National University of Uzbekistan aims to create a greener and more sustainable campus environment while supporting the broader objectives of the “Green Space” national project
