The international festival of Tatar songs named after Rashid Vagapov was held in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republican Fund of Science and Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation.
The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and representatives of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Uzbekistan took part in the festival.
At the opening ceremony of the festival, Nigina Shermukhamedova, professor of the National University of Uzbekistan, doctor of philosophy, was awarded with a commemorative medal for her contribution to the improvement of the scientific cooperation of Uzbek-Tatar scientists.
