In order to organize a lively dialogue between representatives of organizations and enterprises with students and young professionals graduating from the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek, to provide information about available vacancies and to ensure the employment of students, “Career” day” labor fair was organized.
The main customer organizations of the university and more than 100 other enterprises and organizations (commercial banks, insurance companies, private sector organizations, associations) took part in the job fair. Information about many vacancies in industries and specialties related to graduates was presented. Under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on February 23, 2024, dedicated to “Measures to ensure youth employment” a meeting of video selectors was held, and at this meeting, special attention was paid to providing quality education to young people, vocational training and ensuring their employment, and a number of important tasks were defined. “We will build a new Uzbekistan together!” was organized as part of the traditional festival under the slogan “Student Spring – 2024”. In the current academic year, more than 7,000 graduates of the university will receive diplomas. The job fair serves these graduates to find suitable jobs.
Today, the “Career and Employment Center” operates at the university to help students get a job. This center organizes meetings of students with employer organizations, enterprises and institutions. Over the past 2 years, the center has helped more than 8,000 students find suitable jobs. Today’s “Career Day” job fair was organized as a symbolic continuation of such events, and about 10,000 job-seeking students participated in it.
The officials of the employing enterprises and organizations took part in the event with exhibition equipment and information about job vacancies, and held recruitment contests among students. At this event, students and university graduates found answers to their questions about employment, in particular, they had the opportunity to get acquainted with information about available vacancies in the employer’s enterprise or organization, working and household-cultural conditions there, and salary amounts. In turn, the enterprises and organizations that participated in the event had the opportunity to have a direct conversation with the students, to select the personnel they need, and to sign mutually beneficial contracts and agreements.
Currently, the university trains specialists in mathematics and physics, chemistry and biology, ecology, social sciences, history, sociology, psychology and other fields.
