International scientific and practical conference on "Modern trends in the development of intellectual property rights: theory and practice"

The main goal of the conference is to strengthen the system of intellectual property rights protection, stimulate innovative activity, study national and international practice in the effective protection of scientific discoveries and copyrights.

Within the framework of the event, the participants presented scientific analyses on the role of intellectual property in the modern economy, copyright protection in the digital environment, legal approaches to artificial intelligence products, as well as global legislative trends.

The conference was attended by professors and teachers of the National University of Uzbekistan, representatives of leading higher educational institutions of our country, the Intellectual Property Agency, the Ministry of Justice and other relevant organizations, scientific researchers, doctoral students, master’s students, as well as practicing lawyers.

In addition, international experts and scientists from Sweden, Poland, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and other countries also participated with their reports and contributed to the process of exchange of experience.

During the conference, scientific reports and discussions were held in the following main areas:

National and international mechanisms for the protection of intellectual property;

Changing principles of copyright in the era of artificial intelligence and digital technologies;

Directions for improving the innovation and patenting system;

Issues of commercialization of scientific results and their legal protection;

Prospects for harmonizing the legislation of Uzbekistan with international standards.

The participants expressed their views on current problems and solutions in these areas, emphasizing the need to further strengthen the role and importance of intellectual property in the development of the country.

International experts presented reports on the experiences of intellectual property protection in Sweden, Poland, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan, legal regulation mechanisms in the digital economy, as well as advanced practices of the European Union and other international organizations.

They believe that Uzbekistan has made significant progress in improving its intellectual property policy, and further expansion of international cooperation in this area will give a strong impetus to the development of an innovative economy in our country.

At the end of the conference, memorandums of understanding were signed between the National University of Uzbekistan and a number of foreign higher education institutions. They will serve to establish joint scientific research, exchange of students and specialists, and advanced training programs in the field of intellectual property law in the future.

In addition, the participants of the event developed practical recommendations on strengthening intellectual property protection in Uzbekistan, bringing legislation in this area into line with international standards, and encouraging innovative activity.
