The “Student League” sports competitions, which lasted for about six months and were held as part of five important initiatives to meaningfully organize youth leisure time at the National University of Uzbekistan, have come to an end.

These competitions included such popular sports as football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis and chess, and served not only to physically train students, but also to strengthen the spirit of friendship and teamwork.

Students from 16 faculties and teams from 4 neighborhoods of the Almazar district attached to the university actively participated in this major sports event. The competitions were held in stages, interfaculty, and later at the university level, and the selected teams competed for the “Rector’s Cup”.

This competition, which covered about 15 thousand students in total, was distinguished by its scale and interest. The main goals of this project were to increase interest in sports among students, encourage them to lead a healthy lifestyle, and create a positive atmosphere in the university community.

Yesterday, the solemn award ceremony of the “Student League” was held. During the event, the winning teams were awarded a total of 62 million 500 thousand soums in cash prizes.

2nd place – Faculty of Biology
3rd place – Faculty of Geology and Engineering Geology
