"Sumalak Sayli" at the National University of Uzbekistan - the light of our national values and the joy of youth
The National University of Uzbekistan is holding a festive event, “Sumalak Sayli”, one of the most beautiful symbols of spring. This event, held every year on the eve of Navruz, serves not only to restore and preserve ancient traditions, but also to widely promote our national values to young people, to educate them in the spirit of unity and kindness.
Sumalak – a symbol of blessing and renewal
In the ancient tradition of the Uzbek people, sumalak is valued as a symbol of spring renewal, abundance and blessing. The process of its preparation is one of the ancient traditions that unites the entire community, calling people to love and solidarity. The “Sumalak Sayli”, organized in the university courtyard, also gave students the opportunity to see and feel these values with their own eyes.
Songs and prayers around the tandoor
During the event, students, professors, teachers and guests actively participated in the process of preparing sumalak. National songs sounded around the cauldron, and wishes and prayers typical of Navruz were said. In particular, the students and young people showed their talent, performed songs, and danced national dances, which gave the event a festive spirit.
Promotion of national values
As part of the “Sumalak Sayli”, an exhibition of national costumes, folk games, and various cultural programs were also organized with the participation of students. This further increased the interest and attention of young people to our national values, enriching their creative and spiritual world. The event also provided information about the content of the symbolic rituals in the process of preparing sumalak, their place in the history of our people.
In the spirit of unity and solidarity
The most important aspect of the event is that it brought together students and professors from different faculties around one table. This has played an important role in further strengthening the spirit of unity, kindness, friendship, and patriotism, and instilling our national values in the hearts of young people.
