The National University of Uzbekistan organized an international scientific conference to discuss climate change, its impact on the environment, and solutions to global challenges. This event brought together not only national but also international scientific communities. Researchers from countries such as Russia, Turkey, Japan, India, and Tajikistan participated both in person and online.
One of the most significant aspects of the conference was the participation of Rae Kwon Chung, the UN Secretary-General’s Chief Advisor on Climate Change, Chairman of the International Committee of the Global Energy Prize, and Honorary Doctor of Moscow State University, who delivered a keynote address.
Rae Kwon Chung is a globally recognized expert in combating climate change. In 2007, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize as a member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) for his contributions to “collecting and disseminating knowledge about anthropogenic climate change and developing measures to combat such changes.” His participation in this conference underscored the importance and global relevance of the event’s theme.
The conference focused on discussing the consequences of climate change, including rising global temperatures, melting glaciers, and periodic meteorological disasters. International and local scientists exchanged views on the importance of modern scientific approaches, innovative technologies, and strengthening international cooperation to ensure environmental sustainability.
This event highlighted the National University of Uzbekistan’s commitment to addressing urgent climate change issues and its efforts to collaborate with the global scientific community on finding sustainable solutions.
