On December 16, 2024, a seminar on the role of public speaking in sustainable development was held at the National University of Uzbekistan within the framework of the “NUU Public Talks” project by Aktamova Nargis, a student of the Uzbek State University of World Languages.
During the event, the role of public speaking in society and its contribution to sustainable development were discussed in detail. It was emphasized that public speaking serves not only personal development, but also the formation of collective trust and the resolution of important social issues.
“Public speaking is not only the art of communication, but also a necessary skill for solving problems in society and building a sustainable future.”
Aktamova Nargis
The participants of the event shared valuable advice on methods of mastering the art of public speaking, effective communication with the audience and building a confident speech.
Attention was also paid to the main problems encountered in the process of developing public speaking skills – such as self-doubt, social barriers and lack of experience. Practical methods and techniques were proposed to overcome these problems.
The “NUU Public Talks” project aims to promote sustainable development goals, encourage young people to actively participate in global issues, and develop their public speaking and critical thinking skills.
