Empowering Girls: National University of Uzbekistan Hosts Forum on International Day of Girls

In commemoration of October 11th, the International Day of Girls, the National University of Uzbekistan proudly hosted a forum under the slogan “Girls – the Future of the Nation.” The event, held on October 11, focused on empowering girls and fostering their leadership potential under the theme “Your Initiative – For Your Future.”

The forum served as a platform for dialogue, inspiration, and action, bringing together students, educators, activists, and community leaders to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing girls in Uzbekistan and around the world.

“Girls are the cornerstone of our society, and their empowerment is essential for building a brighter future for all. Through forums like this, we aim to celebrate the achievements of girls, amplify their voices, and create opportunities for them to thrive and lead,” stated Ra’noxon Rustamova, Chairman of Women’s council of NUU.

The forum featured engaging panel discussions, interactive workshops, and inspiring speeches from accomplished women leaders, highlighting the importance of girls’ education, empowerment, and participation in decision-making processes.

Participants had the opportunity to share their experiences, ideas, and initiatives aimed at advancing gender equality, promoting girls’ rights, and addressing issues such as access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.

As the forum concluded, participants were encouraged to take concrete actions to support girls’ empowerment in their communities and beyond. They pledged to advocate for gender equality, challenge stereotypes, and create inclusive spaces where girls can thrive and realize their full potential.

The forum concluded with a call to action for all stakeholders to prioritize girls’ empowerment in policies, programs, and investments, recognizing the invaluable contributions that girls make to society as leaders, innovators, and change-makers
