Within the framework of the upcoming 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference to be held in Samarkand, higher education institutions of Uzbekistan are actively engaging in international cooperation to promote the country\u2019s rich three-thousand-year-old history, national traditions, and cultural heritage abroad.<\/p>

In this regard, a delegation from the National University of Uzbekistan (NUUz) headed by Rector Inom Madjidov paid a working visit to Sweden. The visit aims to establish and expand partnerships with foreign organizations and institutions in the fields of environmental science, sustainable development, and higher education.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

On February 17, Rector Inom Madjidov met with Bo Libert<\/strong>, the head of the Swedish Aral Sea Society<\/strong>. During the meeting, a presentation was delivered on Uzbekistan\u2019s environmental protection efforts and measures taken to mitigate the consequences of the Aral Sea disaster. In particular, the rector emphasized the ongoing initiatives implemented by the National University of Uzbekistan in the Muynak district and the dried seabed of the Aral Sea, where the university has established two educational and scientific experimental bases covering 1.7 hectares<\/strong>. These facilities provide practical training for students and opportunities for professors and researchers to conduct field studies focused on ecological restoration and climate resilience.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In turn, Bo Libert<\/strong> expressed great interest in the university\u2019s projects and proposed to develop further cooperation in the areas of ecology and sustainable environmental management<\/strong>. He also suggested organizing weekly online lectures in English<\/strong> for students to enhance their global environmental awareness and research skills.<\/p>

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to implement joint scientific projects<\/strong> aimed at protecting the environment and addressing the effects of climate change.<\/p>
