Laboratory<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"799\" data-end=\"802\" \/>This laboratory serves as a hub for student research and applied studies in renewable energy technologies, particularly focusing on <strong data-start=\"934\" data-end=\"969\">transparent polymer solar cells<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"974\" data-end=\"998\">micro-energy systems<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section engage students in hands-on research that supports the university\u2019s <strong data-start=\"1158\" data-end=\"1197\">Affordable and Clean Energy <\/strong>\u00a0and <strong data-start=\"1202\" data-end=\"1229\">Climate Action <\/strong>\u00a0commitments.<\/p><p data-start=\"1246\" data-end=\"1278\">The lab provides facilities for:<\/p><ul data-start=\"1279\" data-end=\"1645\"><li data-start=\"1279\" data-end=\"1384\"><p data-start=\"1281\" data-end=\"1384\">Testing and developing <strong data-start=\"1304\" data-end=\"1332\">solar-based technologies<\/strong> (solar cookers, photovoltaic panels, microgrids);<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1385\" data-end=\"1449\"><p data-start=\"1387\" data-end=\"1449\">Conducting <strong data-start=\"1398\" data-end=\"1446\">experiments on energy storage and conversion<\/strong>;<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1450\" data-end=\"1552\"><p data-start=\"1452\" data-end=\"1552\">Researching <strong data-start=\"1464\" data-end=\"1488\">innovative materials<\/strong> such as transparent polymers for next-generation solar cells;<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1553\" data-end=\"1645\"><p data-start=\"1555\" data-end=\"1645\">Promoting <strong data-start=\"1565\" data-end=\"1587\">student innovation<\/strong> through independent and supervised scientific projects.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><blockquote data-start=\"1647\" data-end=\"1923\"><p data-start=\"1649\" data-end=\"1923\"><em data-start=\"1649\" data-end=\"1726\">\u201cOur goal is to combine scientific curiosity with sustainable development,\u201d<\/em> says <a href=\"https:\/\/nuu.uz\/en\/teacher\/saparbayev-aziz-adamovich\/\"><strong data-start=\"1732\" data-end=\"1754\">Azizbek Saparbayev<\/strong>,<\/a> a research coordinator and young scientist at NUUz. <em data-start=\"1808\" data-end=\"1923\">\u201cWe want students to learn by doing \u2014 to build, test, and improve real solutions for Uzbekistan\u2019s data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p data-start=\"1990\" data-end=\"2256\">One of the key research directions of the lab is the development of <strong data-start=\"2058\" data-end=\"2101\">transparent polymer solar cells (TPSCs)<\/strong> \u2014 a new generation of lightweight, flexible, and semi-transparent solar panels that can be integrated into windows, building facades, and smart devices.<\/p><p data-start=\"2258\" data-end=\"2327\">These cells differ from traditional silicon-based panels by offering:<\/p><ul data-start=\"2328\" data-end=\"2656\"><li data-start=\"2328\" data-end=\"2438\"><p data-start=\"2330\" data-end=\"2438\"><strong data-start=\"2330\" data-end=\"2347\">Transparency:<\/strong> allowing visible light to pass through, making them ideal for architectural integration.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"2439\" data-end=\"2543\"><p data-start=\"2441\" data-end=\"2543\"><strong data-start=\"2441\" data-end=\"2474\">Flexibility and light weight:<\/strong> enabling applications in portable electronics and curved surfaces.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"2544\" data-end=\"2656\"><p data-start=\"2546\" data-end=\"2656\"><strong data-start=\"2546\" data-end=\"2570\">Low-cost production:<\/strong> polymer materials can be processed at lower temperatures using printing techniques.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"2658\" data-end=\"2718\">However, the technology also faces <strong data-start=\"2693\" data-end=\"2717\">technical challenges<\/strong>:<\/p><ul data-start=\"2719\" data-end=\"2948\"><li data-start=\"2719\" data-end=\"2811\"><p data-start=\"2721\" data-end=\"2811\">Limited <strong data-start=\"2729\" data-end=\"2743\">efficiency<\/strong> (currently around 10\u201315%) compared to conventional silicon cells;<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"2812\" data-end=\"2875\"><p data-start=\"2814\" data-end=\"2875\">Lower <strong data-start=\"2820\" data-end=\"2833\">stability<\/strong> and shorter lifespan under UV exposure;<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"2876\" data-end=\"2948\"><p data-start=\"2878\" data-end=\"2948\">Need for improved <strong data-start=\"2896\" data-end=\"2913\">encapsulation<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"2918\" data-end=\"2945\">charge transport layers<\/strong>.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"2950\" data-end=\"3133\">The laboratory\u2019s ongoing projects aim to improve both the <strong data-start=\"3008\" data-end=\"3039\">power conversion efficiency<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"3044\" data-end=\"3058\">durability<\/strong> of these solar cells under Uzbekistan\u2019s high solar irradiation conditions.<\/p><p data-start=\"3980\" data-end=\"4157\">The establishment of the Energy Efficiency Laboratory is a strategic step toward transforming NUUz into a <strong data-start=\"4086\" data-end=\"4115\">green research university<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"4116\" data-end=\"4119\" \/>In the coming years, the lab plans to:<\/p><ul data-start=\"4158\" data-end=\"4504\"><li data-start=\"4158\" data-end=\"4299\"><p data-start=\"4160\" data-end=\"4299\">Collaborate with the <strong data-start=\"4181\" data-end=\"4217\">Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"4222\" data-end=\"4252\">international universities<\/strong> for joint research on sustainable materials;<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"4300\" data-end=\"4386\"><p data-start=\"4302\" data-end=\"4386\">Develop <strong data-start=\"4310\" data-end=\"4351\">pilot transparent solar installations<\/strong> on campus windows and bus stops;<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"4387\" data-end=\"4504\"><p data-start=\"4389\" data-end=\"4504\">Publish scientific results in international journals on polymer solar cell performance in Central Asian climates.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"4506\" data-end=\"4676\">The long-term vision is to create a <strong data-start=\"4542\" data-end=\"4593\">national center for renewable energy innovation<\/strong>, fostering scientific creativity and environmental responsibility among the youth.<\/p><p data-start=\"2950\" data-end=\"3133\">\u00a0<\/p><blockquote data-start=\"4678\" data-end=\"4864\"><p data-start=\"4680\" data-end=\"4864\"><em data-start=\"4680\" data-end=\"4747\">\u201cEvery student project contributes to a cleaner, smarter future,\u201d<\/em> adds <strong data-start=\"4753\" data-end=\"4775\">Saparbayev Azizbek<\/strong>. <em data-start=\"4777\" data-end=\"4864\">\u201cThrough science, we can make sustainability not just an idea \u2014 but a daily
