Fostering Intellectual Engagement: The Monthly "Zakovat" Games Organized by the Student Union

In the bustling halls of the National University of Uzbekistan, a sense of excitement permeates the air as students eagerly gather for another installment of the monthly “Zakovat” games. Organized and initiated by the Student Union, these intellectual competitions have become a beloved tradition on campus, fostering camaraderie, critical thinking, and academic excellence among participants.
The “Zakovat” games, named after the Uzbek word for “knowledge,” are a series of interdisciplinary competitions that challenge students to test their intellect and problem-solving skills in a variety of fields. From trivia quizzes to debates, puzzles, and academic challenges, each game offers participants a unique opportunity to showcase their talents and expand their knowledge beyond the confines of the classroom.
“Zakovat is more than just a competition – it’s a celebration of intellect and academic curiosity,” says Student Union  Leader  Muhriddin Saydmurodov. “We believe that by engaging students in intellectually stimulating activities outside of their regular coursework, we can foster a culture of lifelong learning and intellectual growth.”
Indeed, the impact of the “Zakovat” games extends far beyond the confines of the competition itself. Participants not only have the opportunity to test their knowledge and skills but also to connect with peers who share their passion for learning and academic excellence. Through friendly competition and collaborative problem-solving, students forge bonds that extend beyond the walls of the university.
“Participating in the ‘Zakovat’ games has been an incredibly rewarding experience,” says  a third-year student majoring in computer science. “Not only have I had the chance to challenge myself and learn new things, but I’ve also met some amazing people who share my interests and passion for intellectual engagement.”
As the “Zakovat” games continue to grow in popularity and acclaim, the Student Union remains committed to expanding and improving the competitions to ensure that they continue to meet the evolving needs and interests of the student body.
