"Values of equal treatment and diversity among students"
One of the modern approaches in higher education institutions is the formation of a diverse and inclusive environment. To this end, taking into account the fact that students come from different nationalities, regions and social strata, a comprehensive spiritual and educational event was organized at the National University of Uzbekistan on the topic “Diversity is the basis of unity and progress”. This event was held at the initiative of the university leadership with the participation of professors, teachers, psychologists, youth leaders and students from different regions.
The main goal of the event was to strengthen the concepts of equality, mutual respect and tolerance in the minds of students, as well as create an environment that values the uniqueness of each person.
Experts who spoke during the event emphasized the need to accept diversity in today’s era of globalization and see it as an important factor in the development of society. In particular, it was noted that effective communication with representatives of different nationalities and cultures, and the correct use of diversity of opinions, broaden the worldview of young people.
The most interesting part of the event was the interactive sessions organized with the participation of students. During them, students were divided into small groups and held discussions based on various situations. For example, possible problems of social adaptation among students from different regions, ways to eliminate stereotypes and prejudices were discussed. This further strengthened empathy (understanding of each other) and social activity among the participants.
Also, as part of the event, a small exhibition in the form of a “Festival of Cultures” was organized. At it, students demonstrated national costumes, dishes and traditions typical of their regions. This further highlighted the diversity existing in the university environment and strengthened friendly relations between students.
At the end of the event, information was provided about the work being carried out by the university administration to support diversity. In particular, the work being carried out to create equal opportunities for students, support young people in need of social protection, ensure gender equality and create a convenient infrastructure for people with disabilities was highlighted.
This event not only served to reinforce the values of diversity in the minds of students, but also to foster a healthy and inclusive environment at the university. Such initiatives are important in helping young people grow up to be well-rounded adults and find their place in society.
