An Event Titled “Do You Know What Hospice Is?” Held at the National University
An educational and awareness-raising event under the theme “Do You Know What Hospice Is?” was held at the National University. The event brought together university professors, teachers, students, and medical professionals to discuss the importance of compassion and care for people with serious illnesses.
The main aim of the meeting was to raise public awareness about the concept of hospice, its role in society, and the importance of providing medical, psychological, and social support to patients in the final stages of life.
During the event, experts emphasized that the purpose of hospice care is not to prolong life artificially but to improve the quality of life, reduce pain, and ensure that patients spend their last days in comfort and dignity. In addition, the speakers highlighted the role of psychological support not only for patients but also for their families.
For students, the event served as an opportunity to learn new concepts and strengthen their understanding of humanity, empathy, and moral responsibility.
