UZMU AND SCHOOL INTEGRATION: TOGETHER WITH YOUTH FOR A GREEN FUTURE

The university held a meeting dedicated to discussing the work done on environmental sustainability, energy efficiency and the implementation of the “Green University” concept. The rector of the university, Professor Inom Madjidov, spoke at the event and reported on the results achieved in this regard.

In his speech, the rector noted that in recent years, the National University of Uzbekistan has carried out significant work in the direction of creating energy-efficient infrastructure, using renewable energy sources and reducing emissions into the atmosphere.

According to him, today all faculty buildings and laboratories at the university are fully equipped with solar panels. This has created the opportunity to conduct educational processes without power outages, and the total electricity consumption has decreased by 30 percent. This is a great achievement not only in terms of economic efficiency, but also in terms of environmental benefits.

lso, energy-saving lighting systems have been installed on the UZMU campus, and heat-saving materials are being used in buildings. Rector Inom Madjidov emphasized that such measures are an important step towards bringing the university to the level of a “Green Campus”.

During his speech, the rector also recognized the initiatives to increase student participation in the field of renewable energy, support scientific research, and increase environmental culture. In particular, it was noted that the mini-solar station project developed by students of the Faculty of Energy and the Faculty of Physics has been implemented on the UZMU campus.

At the end of the event, the rector announced planned programs in cooperation with schools and the community to increase environmental literacy among young people, form a culture of energy saving, and widely promote green technologies.

Thus, today the National University of Uzbekistan, through its practical work, scientific projects and initiatives, is becoming a center of advanced experience in the field of sustainable development and renewable energy in the republic.
