COOPERATION BETWEEN UZMU AND NEIGHBORHOODS: RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES
Rector of the University Inom Madjidov visited the citizens’ meeting of the “Universitet” and “Ziyokor” mahallas in the Almazar district and held an open dialogue with the mahalla officials. The meeting was attended by mahalla chairmen, youth leaders, prevention inspectors and university representatives, and the issues of training young people in professions, meaningful organization of their free time, involvement in clubs and increasing their social activity were discussed in detail.
During the conversation, Rector Inom Madjidov emphasized the need to bring cooperation between the university and mahallas to a new level. According to him, this cooperation plays an important role not only in the fields of education and upbringing, but also in the development of renewable energy sources, green economy and ecological culture.
A number of innovative projects on the use of solar, wind and biogas energy have been developed by university scientists and students. The meeting discussed the possibilities of introducing these experiments at the mahalla level, installing energy-saving systems in households and social facilities. A proposal was also put forward to expand environmental initiatives such as the creation of green areas in the “Universitet” and “Ziyokor” mahallas, waste recycling, and rational use of water and electricity.
As a result of these initiatives, young people living in the mahallas will not only increase their environmental literacy, but will also have the opportunity to practically study energy saving and recovery technologies.
As part of this visit, it was decided that university representatives will organize a training seminar and practical training entitled “Youth and Green Energy”. These seminars are planned to provide students, mahalla activists and teachers with practical knowledge on energy saving, renewable sources and green technologies.
After the visit, representatives of the National University of Uzbekistan held lectures and presentations, and the results of the meeting, the experiences gained, and future plans were presented to the general public. During the event, Rector Inom Madjidov explained the university’s efforts in this direction to the general public, emphasizing the need to harmonize science and ecology.
The university’s cooperation with the community is a new stage in combining education, science, and environmental awareness. Today, the university aims to be a leader not only in nuclear technologies, but also in the field of sustainable development and renewable energy technologies. This approach is becoming a practical model that leads Uzbekistan towards a “green economy”.
