SDG-7: affordable and clean energy
The pursuit of sustainable development is closely linked to the availability of affordable, reliable and clean energy. Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG 7) aims to address this critical issue by ensuring universal access to modern energy services, increasing the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix, and improving energy efficiency. Achieving SDG 7 is not only important for reducing poverty and promoting economic growth, but it also plays a crucial role in combating climate change and promoting environmental sustainability.
All over the world, innovative research and projects are being carried out to advance the goals of SDG 7. This includes a variety of activities, including the development of renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency strategies, and initiatives to expand energy access in low-income areas.
National University of Uzbekistan (NUU) is at the forefront of these efforts, making a significant contribution to the body of knowledge and practical solutions aimed at achieving SDG 7. NUU is making progress through a combination of academic research, technological innovation and community engagement. in the field of sustainable energy. Their work spans diverse fields such as solar and wind energy, bioenergy, smart grid technologies, and energy-efficient building practices.
One of the most notable aspects of NUU's contributions is the exponential growth of research results on SDG 7. From two publications in 2018 to an impressive 29 publications in 2023, the university has demonstrated its strong commitment to advancing sustainable energy research. This body of work has gained considerable attention and influence, with more than 2,252 opinions and 569 citations, reflecting the global importance and impact of their research.
In the following sections, we take a deeper look at specific areas of research, key findings, and the broader implications of NUU's work for affordable and clean energy. Through these efforts, the university not only contributes to scientific progress, but also supports the practical application of sustainable energy solutions, ultimately ensuring a more sustainable and just future.
