An international scientific-practical conference on the theme “The Role of Universities to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals” was held dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan, the 45th anniversary of the Faculty of Social Sciences, and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the “Department of Philosophy”.

The purpose of the conference is to exchange opinions on the issues of science, the role of universities in achieving sustainable development in the world, and improving the system of education and training in universities.
At the conference, it was stated that the improvement of the education and training system in universities is a condition for achieving the goals of sustainable development, ensuring resilience to threats in the economic, political, social, legal, and spiritual spheres and achieving sustainable development is the priority, ensuring gender equality is the key to achieving the goals of sustainable development factors, issues of ensuring international cooperation in environmental protection, elimination of the consequences of technological development, formation of ideological immunity in young people, issues of philosophy of history and the importance of the history of philosophy in achieving the goals of sustainable development will be discussed. Also, opinions will be exchanged on strengthening mutual cooperation and exchange of experience.
At this international conference, important tasks aimed at improving the educational system, accelerating the development of science, solving problems in the field of education, and improving the quality of education were highlighted. After all, today it is considered an urgent task to update the quality of the educational system in accordance with the requirements of the times and to study the achievements of the most advanced educational field in the world, and to use them in the aspects that are suitable for our national characteristics.
