In April 2023, the National University of Uzbekistan, “Uzbekistan-France” friendship society, A.S.I.E. in France. (Association de solidarité internationale et d’éducation) International Solidarity and Education Organization, teachers of the Universities of Tours and Orléans have established mutual cooperation on combating climate change. A number of issues were put on the agenda.In the first part of the day, the partners held a roundtable discussion with students interested in foreign philology, geology and geoinformation systems faculty, and foreign languages. The guests who came to this meeting shared their impressions of their trip to Uzbekistan, visits to historical cities and monuments, Uzbek crafts, nature, ecology, and agriculture. In an open dialogue, they exchanged views on climate change, possible damage and consequences, and measures to be taken to moderate the climate. They discussed some climate problems, comparing the climate of Uzbekistan and France. In the future, in cooperation with the National University of Uzbekistan, it was agreed to regularly conduct online and offline seminar-trainings, forums and roundtable discussions on climate change, nature conservation and the organization of green space in the territory of Uzbekistan.
In the afternoon, teachers and students of the National University of Uzbekistan, A.S.I.E. Volunteers of the International Solidarity and Education Organization together planted 20 root trees on the territory of the Shahar Clinical Psychiatry Hospital. During the planting process, Alain Payen told everyone about which types of trees are suitable for the climate of Uzbekistan and how to care for them.
Partner organizations to organize the visit of French volunteer students to the desert zone of the Moynoq district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan belonging to the National University of Uzbekistan in 2023 and to go in cooperation with the volunteer students of the National University of Uzbekistan, and to turn the Moynok zone into a green space , it was agreed to further increase the number of trees, to conduct discussions on the expansion of measures to improve the climate in the zone, to make new start-up and innovative projects in the field of green space.
