Fostering Future Geologists: NUUz Hosts Annual Festival

NUUz Inspires Student Engagement in Earth Sciences Through the “Young Geologists” Festival

Within the framework of the annual “Young Geologists” Festival, NUUz  hosted a series of academic and sporting competitions designed to cultivate scientific curiosity, teamwork, and awareness of the planet’s natural systems.

One of the key highlights of the festival was the Geology Knowledge Competition, which brought together talented students from:

  • The Faculty of Geology and Engineering Geology of NUUz,

  • Tashkent State Technical University, and

  • Termez State University of Engineering and Agrotechnologies.

Participants demonstrated their expertise in geological formations, mineral resources, tectonics, and ecological processes, showcasing not only their academic skill but also their growing understanding of the interconnectedness between geology, ecosystems, and sustainable resource use.

Through events like the “Young Geologists” Festival, NUUz integrates education, competition, and sustainability into a unified learning experience.
These programs are designed to help students:

  • Explore the Earth’s dynamic systems, including soils, rocks, and water resources;

  • Understand how human activity affects natural balance;

  • Learn ways to protect geological and ecological environments through research and innovation.

By combining practical learning with teamwork and environmental responsibility, NUUz encourages students to view geology not only as a science of the Earth’s structure, but also as a key to preserving the ecosystems that sustain life.
