NUUz Students Win Regional Stages of the “Heirs of Mirzo Ulugbek” Competition, with Increased Focus on Startup Projects
Students of the National University of Uzbekistan have successfully won the regional stages of the prestigious “Heirs of Mirzo Ulugbek” Republican competition and earned the right to participate in the final national round.
Notably, Shukrullo Foziljonov, a 1st-year master’s student majoring in Biotechnology at the Faculty of Biology, won in the Andijan region; Ulug‘bek Abdukarimov, a 4th-year student majoring in Biology at the same faculty, won in the Navoi region; and Sug‘diyona Baxtiyorova, a 3rd-year student majoring in Oil and Gas Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry, was named the winner in the Samarkand region.
For reference, the “Heirs of Mirzo Ulugbek” competition is organized by the “Ulugbek” Foundation for Supporting Talented Youth, in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, and the Tashkent City Administration. The goal of the competition is to support gifted youth and unlock their scientific and innovative potential.
As part of this initiative, the National University of Uzbekistan is placing greater emphasis on the development of startup projects and innovative thinking among students. The university aims not only to provide theoretical knowledge, but also to create a practical platform for students to develop and implement solutions to real-world challenges through entrepreneurship and innovation.
