NUUz Hosts Scientific Seminar on Lifelong Learning Opportunities for Women and Men

On February 29, a scientific seminar titled “Promoting Lifelong Learning Opportunities for Women and Men: Achievements and Challenges” was held at the National University of Uzbekistan (NUUz). The event aimed to highlight the significance of continuous education in today’s rapidly evolving world and foster discussions on ensuring equal access to education for all.The seminar was jointly organized by the Committee on Women and Family Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, and NUUz. The event gathered officials from various ministries and organizations, representatives of international higher education institutions, prominent scholars, and members of the mass media.

Notably, professors and researchers from Kazan Federal University, Moscow State Pedagogical University, and Tashkent State Pedagogical University, along with female scholars, doctoral researchers, and students from other academic institutions across Uzbekistan, participated in the seminar via Zoom.

The seminar focused on the growing importance of adult education in the context of globalization. Participants discussed key issues such as the development of professional knowledge and skills, strategies to support lifelong learning for both women and men, and efforts to raise public awareness about the educational opportunities currently available.

By facilitating dialogue between national and international experts, the seminar served as a platform to examine achievements and remaining challenges in creating inclusive, accessible, and sustainable learning environments. It also emphasized the role of policy, institutional support, and innovation in enabling individuals—regardless of gender—to pursue personal and professional development throughout their lives.

This event marked a significant step in reinforcing Uzbekistan’s commitment to gender equality in education and to fostering a culture of lifelong learning.
